Adesh A. Vora, Pharm. D.

Director, President
Bio: Pharmacist.
Working in the pharmaceutical industry, Adesh is passionate about healthcare, and believes wholeheartedly that all people should have access to modern healthcare innovations, including medicine, and hospital equipment. With almost 20 years of industry experience, Adesh has the technical knowledge necessary to improve the process of getting much needed healthcare to those in need.

 

Arpana Vora

Director, Secretary
Bio: Community leader, Active philanthropist and Mother of four.
Arpana is passionate about philanthropy, at home and throughout the the world. In addition to serving on the Board of Directors at SICF, She is a dedicated member of India Rainbow Community Services of Peel.

 

Priya Amin

Treasurer
Bio: Program Manager of Education
A graduate of the University of Toronto, Priya Amin is a seasoned Educator in both the public, private, and not-for-profit sectors whose experience spans two decades.
From classroom instruction, to policy creation and development, to program and school management, Priya has dedicated herself to being an advocate for the children, youth, families, and the under privileged. She has travelled many landscapes as she enjoys traveling and has also worked and lived in the Cayman Islands, The USA, and Toronto.
She is a Reiki practitioner and a volunteer committee member for the Ontario Lung Association’s Turbuculosis committee. She completed her first half marathon a few years ago and looks forward to completing her first marathon in the near future! She empowers people to be their best, is a kid at heart, and can often be found laughing away and helping others!

 

Elham Ellen Jamshidi

Director
Bio: Barrister & Solicitor
Elham is a Toronto Criminal Lawyer who is an impassioned litigator with extensive trial experience; an advocate who ensures accused individuals receive fair representation in the criminal justice system. Her father – and his imprisonment in Iran as a victim of religious persecution – taught her the importance of fighting for a fair judicial system. She received her Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from York University in 2000, with a major in psychology. Later that year, she began working at the law firm of Hinkson Sachak McLeod as a law student. She received her L.L.B. from Queen’s University in 2003 and articled with Hinkson Sachak McLeod and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2004. Criminal law is a good fit for her because of her desire to help people who find themselves in desperate situations before the Courts. Additionally, she mentors other lawyers, law students and high school students about advocacy and criminal law.

 

Lauren La Rose

Director
Bio: Journalist
Lauren is a full-time writer on the front lines of covering notable news at home and abroad. Whether it’s on a one-to-one basis in or as part of a larger group initiative, she takes great pleasure in the ability to give back and demonstrate kindness and compassion to those in need. She is looking forward to the chance to take on a greater role in helping affect change for the good.
