We, at SEVA International Charitable Foundation (SICF) believe in working towards a society where those who have the means and motivation to provide aid – be it financial, or support in kind- can reach those in need. We believe that the most vulnerable members of Canadian society are deserving of relief and advocacy, and that those who need help, should receive help.
Through giving, we hope to plant the seeds of positivity, hope and generosity, inspiring others in our great community to do the same.
Core Purposes
SICF will provide healthcare for those in need. We will ensure that prescription medicines reach children and families who require them, but cannot afford them. We will also provide funds hospitals and community health centres that are in need of life-enhancing/life-saving equipment and improved infrastructure.
In Ontario, approximately 9% of prescriptions remain unfilled due to the cost (Wellesley Institute, 2015)
SICF will support animal advocacy groups worldwide. We believe that animals are important members of our global community. Serving animals whose welfare is at stake, elevates our humanity by ultimately helping us to become more humane. SICF will provide donations to groups who provide aid to animals who are suffering as a result of natural disasters, over-hunting or abuse.
SICF will fund grants and scholarships for economically vulnerable students attending postsecondary programs. SICF believes that supporting our youth’s education not only means a better life for them, but stronger communities all around. Everyone deserves the opportunity to develop their talents, and the larger society deserves the chance to become stronger as a result.
Virtually every year, the cost of tuition in Canada increases (The Daily, Statistics Canada, 2014), putting further strain on low income families and individuals, who struggle to pay for University and College educations.
Local in our scope, but global in our perspective, SICF will also provide aid outside of Canada in special circumstances or in the case of large scale catastrophes.
